Associate Investigator for KPCO IHR
The Institute for Health Research (IHR) is seeking an associate investigator / professor to serve as the investigator or co-investigator on major projects for the Kaiser Permanente Colorado (KPCO) Institute for Health Research (IHR).
The position requires Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD) in a social sciences, medicine, health care discipline, or other relevant field and a minimum seven (7) years of experience as co- or principal investigator in conducting research and research experience as an investigator.
The IHR is seeking a scientist with interest, demonstrated expertise and funding in one of the following content areas: Mental Health, Maternal and Child Health, Biostatistics, Operational research and evaluation with demonstrated experience working closely with care delivery using research to test and evaluate programs and clinical approaches, and demonstrated interest in social determinants of health, disparities, and digital health as part of research.

Director of Research Operations
The Institute for Health Research (IHR) is seeking a Director of Research Operations. This role oversees and directs scientific research operations, including clinical trials, of the Kaiser Permanente Colorado (KPCO) Institute for Health Research (IHR). In addition, the Director works in partnership to develop strategic objectives with the IHR Director of Research Administration and reports to the IHR Executive Director; provides leadership, guidance and development opportunities to managers, supervisors, project managers, research specialists, research assistants, biostatisticians, analysts, data specialists and programmers who support investigators; develops and oversees the IHR operations budget and resource allocation; cultivates and maintains collaborative relationships with professionals throughout KPCO; ensures research operations are compliant with the funding agency, state, federal, statutory and regulatory standards. Minimum Requirements:

The Research Data Analyst for the Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) contract provides analytic and data infrastructure support for the VSD project team, which includes project managers, scientist team and physicians. The Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) is a project led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and includes a network of health care systems that collaborate to produce large-scale aggregate data needed to conduct vaccine safety surveillance and epidemiological studies of vaccines. The position will be responsible for building and maintaining the VSD infrastructure within Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States (KPMAS), fulfilling any VSD based data requests, working with and running distributed code requests, and completing any ancillary request needed by the project teams and/or by the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI). In addition to fulfilling data requests, this position will play a key role in the design and implementation of research projects; designing and maintaining internal and external databases; running analytical reports and providing statistics; working with the project team to validate, troubleshoot and interpret results; preparing and assisting with manuscripts for publication; actively participate with the project team in discussions to identify key areas of improvement and set priorities. The Research Data Analyst II reports to the Director of Research Analytics for the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI).

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary data analyst for the Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) contract
- Work with the team biostatistician to scope, conduct, review, and complete the analyses required for VSD projects
- Ensure all data requirements and deadlines are met
- Provide analytic and data infrastructure support for the VSD project team and assist in development of data solutions
- Provide consultation in the areas of analytics including health care data, biostatistics, EPIC based electronic medical records
- Partner with members of the clinical, technical, analytical, and operational staff to improve data quality and resolve data issues
- Extract, manipulate and merge large, intricate databases to create and define analytical datasets

Job Summary:
The Research Project Manager (PM) coordinates research project(s) in accordance with protocol, budget and timelines maintaining compliance with both federal and internal regulations. Responsible for the coordination and completion of highly visible, sensitive and multi-faceted research-related projects involving Kaiser Permanente (KP) and its partners. Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the design and implementation of appropriate tracking systems to assure study timeline and goals are met. Initiates and participates in protocol implementation and interpretation discussions with other research staff. Accountable for reporting compliance issues to the study investigator, IRB compliance administrator, and/or other regulatory agent.
- Monitors accurate data collection and data quality audits, participant tracking, and other aspects of the project to assure its timeliness and accuracy. Provides timely feedback to investigators regarding problems that require attention
- Works under the supervision of study investigators and key personnel in the construct of manuscripts. Assists with tracking manuscripts in development and with planning for project papers and posters to be presented at national and international conferences
- Consults with investigator(s) on research study issues such as protocol clarification, budget variances, and noncompliance.
- Coordinates the work of staff assigned to a particular research project. May assist in the planning and assignment of tasks for staff. Communicates effectively with the research team, managers, clinical staff and/or others throughout the region, as needed

Qualifications:

Job Description
The Division of Research of The Permanente Medical Group (Kaiser Permanente Northern California) seeks a Research Scientist I for its Vaccine Study Center. The ideal candidate will be a trained clinician with experience conducting vaccine research. This individual will be expected to contribute to the design and execution of vaccine clinical trials and observational studies, conduct scholarly research that is recognized nationally and internationally, and collaborate with the director of the Vaccine Study Center, other Division of Research (DOR) investigators, and Kaiser Permanente clinicians and leadership to advance knowledge in the field of vaccine safety and effectiveness.
Investigators in the DOR draw on rich clinical data derived from comprehensive electronic medical records and access the diverse population of >4.5 million members of Kaiser Permanente Northern California (KPNC). This Research Scientist I position ideally calls for experience in human vaccine immunology, vaccine implementation science, including monitoring and evaluation, vaccine safety, clinical trials and related legal, regulatory and ethical issues. The successful candidate is expected to have a fundamental understanding of epidemiologic principles, infectious diseases and vaccine study designs, along with excellent communication skills, a track record of peer-reviewed publications and successful grant applications and an ability to manage others.
Required qualifications include:
- an MD degree or equivalent;
- board certified in a primary care specialty, or equivalent;
- current, active U.S. medical license.
Subspecialty training in infectious diseases, or another subspecialty with strong interest in infectious diseases and MPH or MSc in clinical trials, epidemiology or equivalent experience is also highly preferred. Physician Research Scientist Position in Population Health and Predictive Analytics
The Division of Research of Kaiser Permanente, Northern California (KPNC DOR) seeks a physician health services researcher interested in studying and improving general outpatient care and population health through the use of predictive analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and clinical informatics. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independently funded research program, conduct scholarly research, and collaborate with Kaiser Permanente clinicians and leadership in developing and evaluating interventions to enhance outpatient care delivery and population health. These interventions could include embedding predictive models in the outpatient electronic health record or in cloud-based platforms. The Division of Research (DOR) of Kaiser Permanente Northern California seeks a senior researcher to become its Associate Director for Cancer Research. This individual will lead one of DOR’s six scientific sections and will participate in department-wide leadership activities. S/he will also maintain an independently funded research program and conduct scholarly research that is recognized nationally and internationally. A key part of this leadership role is to foster collaboration with Kaiser Permanente's program, clinical trial, clinical and operational leaders on studies that evaluate ways to improve our understanding of the risk factors, mechanisms, outcomes and effective preventative and therapeutic strategies across the spectrum of different malignancies in children and adults. The Associate Director may be appointed at the Associate Professor or Professor-equivalent level.
This Associate Director position calls for a strong understanding and expertise related to cancer research, which can include epidemiology, evaluation of clinical and patient-centered care, outcomes assessment, and clinical trials. In general, DOR associate directors spend approximately 20% of their effort on leadership activities with their section faculty and for the department, and the remainder of their effort on their own research. The successful candidate is expected to maintain their own externally-funded research portfolio including NIH or other federal funding, collaborate with physicians and program leaders within Kaiser Permanente, work with other DOR researchers on content and methodological issues, and develop national and international collaborations to advance research, quality of care and outcomes related to cancer. Diabetes Epidemiologist Research Scientist
The Division of Research (DOR) of The Permanente Medical Group of Kaiser Permanente Northern California (KPNC) seeks an early-stage investigator with research experience in the epidemiology of diabetes and other chronic conditions related to diabetes incidence and complications, including etiologic research on the interplay of environmental and genetic factors, social determinants of health, and health equity, and health services research.
This Research Scientist I position calls for relevant expertise in diabetes epidemiology, the epidemiology of related chronic conditions such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), health equity research, social determinants of health, and health services research in people with diabetes and prediabetes. In addition to diabetes epidemiology, a candidate may also have expertise in other research areas and methods, including quantitative and biostatistical methods. The specific areas in which the successful candidate may work should complement content areas of interest to DOR investigators and promote collaborations with KPNC clinical and operations leaders. Preferred qualifications include a PhD or equivalent training in epidemiology, health services research, or a related field. A clinical degree along with a master’s degree in a research field is preferred.
